my last six coral records
My last six Coral records. Mid-1960s perhaps. Mostly Steinweiss. One more “songs everybody knows”, but its not a great cover.
songs everybody knows
another Steinweiss series, of which I only have a couple. All of these look like his work to me. The Al Hirt one is in one of the books.

two recent acquisitions, including a darrill connelly
On a thrift shop trip to Annapolis (most people go there for the history and the waterfront) i picked up this Darrill Connelly 10 inch lp. The middle picture. There was another one concerning Mark Twain, but it was in … Continue reading
our golden favorites
Eight more Corals, all of them almost definitely Steinweiss. Coral had a series – “John Doe – My Golden Favorites” – many of which are in this post. These are Steinweiss, imho, and although individually they are just okay, together … Continue reading
next six Coral Records
these are my next six Coral Records that I collected because they could be Steinweiss.
five more coral records
my next five coral records. some are probably steinweiss. the first one of mine to be stereo, which means 1957 or 1958.
Five more Coral records, probably Steinweiss
The next five of my Coral records. I show the back of one of them, with its Steinweiss font. Someone designed the backs of each of them. Most backs are uninteresting, but this one looks like Steinweiss to me.
a darrill connelly reissue, and an RCA reissue
I don’t know why Columbia reissued Gentlemen Prefer Blondes with a white border around the design. It must have looked more modern to them. The RCA Dukes of Dixieland is easier to speculate about. It was originally on Vik, an … Continue reading
next two corals, and two recently acquired deccas
these two corals are probably Steinweiss. These two Deccas are anybody’s guess. The Peter Duchin from the 60s and Annie Get Your gun from the early 50s.
the next six Coral records. Steinweiss?
six more Coral records. Two of them give the photographers’ names. I don’t think that precludes them from being Steinweiss designs. To me, the Don Cornell has to be Steinweiss. The rest I give varying probabilities to.
