a last everest, just for fun, and a steinweiss london
This Everest record is from 1972. I love that Chinese communist graphic sensibility. Sometimes I keep a record cover just because it is so amusing. The London Steinweiss, and the rest of the posts of today, mark the end of … Continue reading
three more everest covers. Steinweiss?
These three I am less sure of. The organ music one is pretty, but it has too late a catalog number. Captain Kangaroo probably is, although it is not particularly nice. And the other one? Who knows.
the last few definite Steinweiss covers
A few more Everest SDBR covers. These are the last ones that I am sure (or almost sure) are Steinweiss.
reissues of a previously posted cover, fading away
I already posted an original copy of this cover. Over time, Everest kept the same cover but lowered the quality of the printing.
the next five Steinweiss Everest SDBR3000 covers
A couple of them quite beautiful.
5 more Steinweiss Everest SDBR3000s
One of them in two variants. Again, Steinweiss could take mediocre material and make brilliant covers for it.
The first four of my Everest SDBR3000 series covers
Go back two years from the last post (to 1958), to the first ones of another series. All of a suddent, the covers are definitely Steinweiss and beautiful.
the last four SDBR1000 series Everest covers
These are the last four of my Everest SDBR1000 series covers. As I have said before, by this point in 1960, were they still designed by Steinweiss? I actually think they were, as they are clever. But I don’t know.
five more Steinweiss Everest covers
I am glad I saved Everest for last of my Steinweiss collection. These five are as wonderful a range of designs as any artist has ever come up with in such a short period. Gershwin in Brass is reminiscent of … Continue reading
a variant in texture
There are more ways for two record covers to be different from each other than one can imagine. There are serious collectors for some things – Elvis, for example -who care about minor differences. For something as uncollectable as Steinweiss … Continue reading
