Scheherazdae on Musical Heritage Society

Scheherazade on Musical Heritage Society and similar labels. Plus an overlooked London. MHS4076 is one of my all time favorite Scheherazade covers. The designer is named Allison Potter. The recording is the same, I imagine, as one of the Melodiya ones posted a few weeks ago. I have complained before about cheesecake covers being entirely inappropriate for a piece of music that references serious oppression – honor killing – of women. Here, Potter captures better than any other cover the point of view of the victim, Scheherazade herself.
