Continuing with the Scheherazade collection, here are some on Columbia and related labels. Some others on Columbia have been posted already, for their Steinweiss covers. Here are a few that are pop music albums that do one theme from Scheherazade, and others – most of them – which are full recordings of Rimsky-Korsakov’s famous work. One cover, by Ronald Clyne, is lettering and geometric shapes. The rest are women in oriental costume. These make one realize how good Steinweiss, and Witt, were – those two designers capture the power balance between Scharyar and Scheherazade herself, where these capture nothing of any great interest.

Ronald Clyne went on to do the majority of the covers on the great Folkways label. Always good covers, but not always very interesting.
