Scheherazade on Columbia Records

Columbia records is one of the original major record labels of the U.S. I have a few of their 78 rpm sets of Scheherazade, those will be in a later post. Here are some of the earlier lp ones. Columbia recorded Scheherazade numerous times, and rereleased many of them. These are the original issues of the lp version of Eugene Ormandy conducting the Philadelphia Orchestar. All are catalog number ML 4089, they came out in 1948 to 1950. The earliest designs are by Alex Steinweiss. The later one features an illustration by Darrill Connelly.
